Now you have your Mortgage in Principle in place it’s time to start looking for your ideal home. There are some things you can do to make the search easier and find out what you need to know about your potential home.
Start your search
It is worth doing a little preparation before you begin, think about what are your must haves (non-negotiables)’ and would-likes (desirables). Location, style of house, new build or existing property as well as local amenities are just some of the things that may be important to you.
- Draw up ‘would like’ and ‘really need’ lists
- Work out a ‘home triangle’: budget, space and location
- Consider existing new homes
- Consider buying schemes (shared ownership etc.)
- Meet and register with estate agents
- Visit property search websites such as Rightmove, Zoopla, OnTheMarket or YourMove
