Moving day – depending on the situation of your home, you will usually be waiting on this day for a call from the estate agent that the keys are ready to be picked up. Once you get the call, you will meet the estate agent, get your keys and now you just need to actually move in…

Most people move in on completion day, it can be very hectic so have your moving plans in place.
If you are using a removal company, hiring a van or getting help from friends you will need to be organised in advance to help the move flow as easily as possible. There is lots of free advice available online and a moving day checklist is an excellent idea! you can find them at:

It is a really good idea to have things like your broadband connection and utilities already organised before you move in

It is recommended that once you have the keys for your new home that you get your locks changed. This is just to make sure that if anyone has kept a key, they can’t then enter what is now your home.
